Raw
Denim in its most rigid state is referred to as raw and our raw finish has been left unlaundered for those who like taking the finishing process into their own hands. Raw denim is perfect if you desire a naturally aged look specific to your body and lifestyle. To assist in developing your garment’s unique identity, we strongly recommend at least 6 months before first wash. Our raw denim handle is crisp, dry, and rigid.
Please note -
Colour: Raw denim is designed to age with you and therefore no additional fixing agents have been added to the finishing process. As a result minor indigo transfer should be expected. See denim care below for wash instruction.
Sizing: Because our raw denim styles haven’t undergone a laundering process expect some difference in key sizing measurements.
Rinse
For those who like beautiful deep indigo colour but desire a softer handle.
Our rinse styles are small batch washed at 75 degrees. 10 garments are washed in recycled water to ensure dye retention, whilst maintaining an eco-conscious process. As the garments move together throughout this wash cycle they gently soften each other, giving them a slightly brushed finished. Our rinsed denim handle is crisp and malleable with a lightly brushed texture.

Wash
Our wash styles are laundered with the help of an all-natural enzyme carefully developed to achieve an intended classic look. Small batches of 10 garments are laundered together at 75 degrees in recycled water, to ensure the right level of dye retention. The addition of a light enzyme leaves the denim with a soft worn in feel. Our washed denim handle is crisp and soft to the touch.

Object Dye
Our object dyed styles are coloured with plant-based pigments. Carefully developed to achieve an intended classic look, small batches of 10 garments are laundered together at 75 degrees in recycled water, to ensure the right level of dye retention and support water economy. Our object dying process leaves the denim with a soft worn in feel.

Denim Care
Made from 13oz 100% cotton denim, ANNARODEWIJK garments have been carefully developed to achieve an intended classic look. Due to the hand finished construction process, each garment may differ slightly. To assist in developing your garments unique identity, we recommend at least 6 months before first wash. When the time does come for your garments first wash please follow our 6 step guide as outlined below.
Hand Washing
1. Turn garment inside out.
This helps prevent major crease lines from developing in undesired areas. It also promotes an even fade and thorough clean, prevents excess dye bleed.
2. Blue blood.
To prevent the blue blood that bleeds from your denim garment from staining other garments, we suggest you wash your denim separately.
3. Run a cold bath & add detergent.
We recommend hand washing any denim in cold water to ensure minimal shrinkage. Machine washing is intense and can disrupt the specific ageing process designed for your ANNARODEWIJK garment. Hand washing is a much more delicate process that will only elongate the life of your denim.
We recommend using a detergent designed for denim such as Mr Black’s Denim Wash or The Laundress Denim Wash. Alternatively a gentle non-soaping product such as Dr Bronner’s Castille Soap is also suitable.
4. Soak.
Fully submerge your denim garment in cold water with detergent. To further prevent inconsistent bleeding make sure garment is as flat as possible. Leave to soak for 40 – 50 minutes.
5. Rinse, don’t ring.
Refill and drain the bath after soaking time is up. Do not ring your denim garment as this will strain the built in twist of the yarn and may damage the cotton fibres. We recommend rolling your denim garment between two dry towels and pressing firmly to release any excess water.
6. Drying.
Air is best. Put your garment outside avoiding direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry.
Machine Washing
1. Turn garment inside out.

2. Add detergent.
We recommend using a detergent designed for denim such as Mr Black’s Denim Wash or a gentle non soaping product such as Dr Bronner’s Castille Soap.
3. Cycle setting.
Set your machine to a gentle cycle to replicate a hand wash as close as possible. We also suggest stopping your machine prior to the spin cycle and applying the same method of drying as outlined in the hand wash section above.
Dry Cleaning
All ANNARODEWIJK denim garments are dry cleanable, although it is not the most desired method of cleaning denim. If you do decide to dry-clean we suggest using a dry cleaner you have used before and one who has experience servicing denim.
